This and That

Our condo as seen from Aaron and Leah's house. Can you see the rainbow?
I would love to know who owns this tri-maran. Maybe they would take me for a long ride!
I was amazed at all the different palm trees there are. These are Royal Palms:

On one of our outings the car broke down. We pulled off the road at this neat little resturant in the pouring down rain. I would like to come back one day and have lunch here and sit at this table by the Caribbean Sea.

Pizza Dan! He makes the MOST awesome pizzas I've ever eaten! Who woulda thought figs and honey would be something you would put on pizza? Awesome!!! Spinach and gorgonzola cheese? Incredible!

Leah made a wonderful spice bread that called for coconut. She sent Scott and Arden out to the coconut tree to harvest a fresh coconut! How cool is that?

Scott and Jack Aaron check out a cotton plant which grows wild on the island; a left-over from the days of slaves and cotton plantations.

June 2010 - Week 1

We're back on the island! Aaron, Leah, and Arden picked us up from the airport on Tuesday, June 15. Jack Aaron is visiting with friends on the island of Anguilla, so we have to wait to see him. Our flight was smooth and uneventful. I was a little worried about our flight from New Orleans leaving on time because a rain storm complete with brilliant flashes of lightening and crashing thunder moved in. Thankfully, it was short lived and moved out just in time for us to board the plane.

Walked down to the beach to watch the sunset. Jack Aaron said every time he watched the sunset, it was different and he never tired of watching....

Celebrating 38 years of marriage today! Scott spent the 1st half of the day working on Aaron and Leah's Land Rover trying to get the windows to work....finally took apart all 4 windows and was able to get the 2 front windows to work! Leah is so happy! Now we are off to a Stunt Kite Lesson for Jack Aaron and a swim at Dawn Beach.

Notice the difference in size!

Success for Jack Aaron. He did a great job making loops.

Arden tried her hand at it and got hung up in a palm tree!

Friday, June 18

Amber, Scott, Kade and Madison have been traveling with Scott's dad in Costa Rica. They were to fly from there to meet us here in St. Maarten arriving around 8:00 tonight. They had some problems with tickets and immigration and missed their flight. They are rescheduled to arrive tomorrow night instead. They are tired and disappointed. We spent the day messaging them back and forth on the computer, checking their status and giving them pep-talks. It has been rainy here with a tropical wave sitting on top of us. Kind of nice to stay in and just visit. We swam in the pool off and on between rain showers.

Aaron's morning run. He runs three mornings a week and then swims in the ocean before going to class.

How cool to know our foot prints were the only ones on the beach so early in the morning!

Mangos grow everywhere on the island.

Saturday, June 19

The Passman family finally arrived!

Sunday, June 20 - Father's Day

Enjoyed the morning on the beach! We had a couple of short, little showers, but not enough to run us off the beach. Rainy and Iva had as much fun as we did! Back to the house for lunch, then to the condo to clean up for church. We had a wonderful service at the little island church, Mary Star of the Sea. The father's were asked to stand and were blessed and given a tiny box of chocolate! Then those celebrating anniversaries were asked to stand. Scott and I and another couple were asked to come to the front of the church....we were blessed and had to kiss right in front of the whole church! It was very special and sweet!

After church we went to Buccaneer Beach and had ribs and pizza by the blazing fire ball!

More photos coming soon!
